Welcome to Meal Plan Monday!
Every other Monday I plan out our dinners for the next two weeks. I have some staples that I make often, but I also spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking at other people’s meal plans and searching for recipes. I figured since I am already investing the time, why not help someone else by sharing my own meal plans. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on future meal plan Monday posts!
The Process
Before I plan out my meals and go grocery shopping, I like to first make a list of ingredients I already have on hand that would make a meal. This is a huge tip and will save you money! When I checked the cupboards and refrigerator, I had the following:
- a package of gnocchi
- white & brown rice
- linguine pasta noodles
- several cans of tuna fish
- frozen turkey burgers
- brats
From here, I will make a list of meals that have these ingredients in them and fill in the days of the week. If I ever get stumped on what to make for a day or two, I will think of a theme for that specific day of the week. As you know, we do Soup Sundays in this house! A sample of themes for the week might be:
- Monday- Meatless Monday
- Tuesday- Taco Tuesday
- Wednesday- Pasta night
- Thursday- Crockpot Meal
- Friday- Pizza night (order in or make homemade)
- Saturday- Seafood Saturday
- Sunday- Soup Sunday
So I planned out the next two weeks, but we will be out of town for a few days, as it is Thanksgiving week this week! We will be spending this Thanksgiving with Shae’s family near Portland, Oregon and we are so excited. Here is what I came up with for the next two weeks:
