Skin Care Favorites for Dry Skin

I wanted to share some of my skin care favorites. This is what I use every single day! I have extremely dry skin that gets flakey and I swear I haven’t had to blot my skin once in my life. It doesn’t matter how much water I drink, how hot it is outside, what products I use, my skin has and always is dry. These are the products that work for my skin and hopefully if there are any other dry skin girls (or guys) out there that need some recommendations, these might help!

1 – Philosophy Purity Cleanser – I have been using this face wash to take off my makeup for years and it does a great job! I also have really sensitive skin and this doesn’t break me out. So if you need a good cleanser that will take off your makeup, try this one out.

2 – CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – After taking off my makeup, I then use this cleanser to wash my face. This stuff is so hydrating. For years, every cleanser I tried still made my face feel ‘tight’ after using it until I tried this one out. This does not take my makeup off, so I only use this after I’ve taken my makeup off or if I didn’t wear makeup that day.

3 – Simple Water Boost Micellar Water – Many toner’s dry my skin out even more, so this is what I use to ensure I have nothing left on my face. It is really hydrating and I like to put my moisturizer on right after while my face is still damp. This and this Formula 10.0.6 Sensitive SO Totally Clean Cleansing Water are the only two ‘toners’ that I use.

4 – C&C Don’t Flake Hydrating Gel – Moisturizers that work with my dry skin have always been hard for me to find. I have tried dozens of them at this point and most never take the tightness away or make my skin plump. I really do feel that this C&C moisturizer makes a difference and I use it every single morning and night. Before that, I was using the Simple Water Boost Skin Quench Sleep Cream and it is really good but it is meant for overnight. If you read my first Five on Friday post, I mentioned that I love how my skin looks in the morning after I use the C&C one at night. So this one is winning for now!

5- St Ives Face Scrub – For my extremely dry skin, it is necessary that I exfoliate at least 3 times a week and this face scrub is very affordable and does the job. I don’t feel like it dries me out and it doesn’t break me out. Another exfoliator that I recommend is the Lush Ocean Salt!

If you have any recommendations for dry skin girls, please let me know!

Oh I love this! I generally have oily skin, but in the winter it gets to a really gross combo skin, flakey, and ugh….just not pretty!

I don’t think my face is capable of producing oils ever haha! BUT, yes I hate having the dry, flakey skin! It is awful!

I am going to have to remember this list for my daughter. Her skin is so dry and has only gotten worst with puberty.

Some people say she may be lucky to not get super oily skin at that age! Dry skin is super hard to manage so I would definitely try out a few of the products!

I have extra dry skin as well, so I always like to know what products others have found that help. I’ve used the St. Ives Face Scrub and I really like it. My skin is very sensitive and red so I’m able to use it once a week but it works great!

They actually make an oatmeal one for sensitive skin that is a little less abrasive, I think, if you want to try that out! My skin is so dry and flakey that I find that I have to exfoliate about every other day. Do you have any product recommendations for dry skin?

My face is combination, but right now it’s been super dry with the winter cold! I also have SUPER sensitive skin. Do you think the C&C is nice and gentle? Right now I found that Aveeno products work best for my skin sensitivities.

Yes, it is definitely nice and gentle! I have extremely sensitive skin, as well, and I have had no reaction or breakouts from it. I really enjoy it!
