Five on Friday!

Happy Friday!

It has been a long and challenging week over here. 16 month olds are NO joke. The attitude and sass of my sweet girl is unreal lately. But! That’s okay, because it is Friday and we started decorating for Christmas this week and  it’s Thanksgiving next week.

ONE: Shae’s mom and sister came over this last weekend to visit and we had the best time! They got here around 2pm on Saturday and we went bowling, ate lots of junk at the bowling alley, came home and visited and ended the night with a very long game of Life! We hadn’t been bowling in quite awhile and it’s been years since we had all played Life. It was a great visit and we get to see them again next week because we will be at their house for Thanksgiving!

TWO: We are obsessed with tacos in this household and we make them a lot. I made Chicken Tacos on Monday and everyone raves about my pico de Gallo, so I wanted to share my recipe. It is so simple!

INGREDIENTS:

Half a bunch of Cilantro
4-5 Roma Tomatoes
1/2 Red onion
1 Jalapeño
1 Lime
Johnny’s Seasoning Salt

RECIPE:

Finely dice the tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño and cilantro and add to a bowl, squeeze the entire lime into the mixture (tip: if I don’t have lime on hand, I will just use lemon juice) and season with Johnny’s seasoning salt to your liking. Sometimes I will add a dash of garlic powder. It is so simple and easy. I like mine pretty spicy so I leave in the seeds and membranes of the jalapeño, but if you want that jalapeño flavor without it being too spicy, I definitely recommend leaving out the seeds and membranes. This pico goes great with plain tortilla chips, on tacos, on eggs… on basically everything!

THREE: I am a complete clean freak over here. I hate any kind of mess. With that being said, I’m obsessed with cleaning products. Ever since Everlee was born, I have switched to mostly all natural products and just a month or two ago, I got sucked into buying from Grove. It might just be me, but I could watch cleaning videos all day long on YouTube and most of them raved about this website. I took the plunge and ordered a bunch of stuff- from toilet cleaner, to shower spray, several different kinds of multi-purpose cleaner, dish soap, hand soap, sponges, you name it. I needed to spend $20 and then I was able to get five things for free. To sum things up, I have not looked back. My next order just got here a few days ago and this time I got more Mrs. Meyers cleaner (Peppermint flavor for the holidays), more shower spray, added glass cleaner and free sponges. Everything they have is very natural and all around great products. If you want to try out Grove and at the very least spend $20 and get a bunch of items for free, you can use my referral link and sign up here! I truly love it and I love the prices. Just as a comparison, if you go to Target and purchase the Mrs. Meyers cleaner it is $4.99 and on Grove it is only $3.89. You also get free shipping, just an FYI!

FOUR: We started decorating for Christmas this week! I was so excited about it. I’m a little sad because we won’t be getting a Christmas tree this year because we will be out of town for the holidays, but I still want to go crazy with the decor! I did a little in Everlee’s room, but we are going to finish it this weekend since I need to get a couple more things to add. I also got a good start on the house but again, I will be finishing it up this weekend. So be on the lookout for that!

FIVE: I wanted to share my morning essentials (other than coffee). I’ve been drinking Amazing Grass for years now, and recently started trying out the Detox & Digest one. I won’t lie, the taste is not pleasant but I still force myself to drink it almost every single morning. This gets my greens in for the day with a little added digestion support! With this pregnancy, I haven’t been eating the most healthy. I am constantly craving sweets lately, which is very unlike me, and with Everlee all I wanted was fruit! So this makes me feel a little bit better about myself. My favorite way to drink it is ice cold, with lots of ice. Energy Lime flavor is my all time favorite and I actually crave the taste of it and will be going back to it once I finish up this container. So alongside my green juice, I also take these prenatal + fish oil supplement. I loathed taking this prenatal for the entire first trimester because it is huge and I was gagging over everything. Now I can get it down pretty easily. I really like these because they are not constipating and the fish oil adds great brain development for our sweet girl! If you have any suggestions for prenatal, send them my way! I prefer to stay away from gummies because your girl does not need any added sugar after all the candy this baby is making me crave. Haha!

I hope you all had a great week, and HAPPY FRIDAY!
